Procedures_Used: Data was researched using several sources: 1.- the Internet: www.miami-airport.com, 2.- Miami-Dade County's Public Library - Street Directions Telephone: (305) 375-5023 3.- the Internet: www.yp.bellsouth.com The address were geocoded to the Dade County street network and points were moved to center the point within the area boundaries. The area boundaries were created using the property layers from the DML library. Revisions: Feb 2013 By: Jeffrey Ruiz Reason: To edit the name of Homestead Air Reserve Base for uniformity throughout all layers. Date: January 8, 2010 By: Angel Mesa Reason: Add the Port of Miami River. Date: February 2007 By: Jeffrey Ruiz Reason: Opa-Locka West Airport was reported as being closed. A new field "STATUS" was added to indicate if a particular airport was closed. The Airport was not deleted for Emergency Management purposes. 1 new airport was added, Dade-Collier Training and Transition Airport. This airport is beyond the Miami-Dade County Boundary, but it is managed by Miami-Dade County Aviation Dept. Emergency Response is handled by Collier County. Date: October 2006 By: GIS Technical Support Staff Reason: The data was converted from the legacy coverage format to the ArcGIS Geodatabase feature class format. Date: January 2006 By: Josh Brashears Reason: Finally received the correct address for USA HOMESTEAD AIRPORT BASE- 28810 CORAL SEA BLVD. Also, determined that the actual name of the base is "HOMESTEAD AIR RESERVE BASE". Change the name to this. Moved the point over the middle of the airport. Date: October, 2005 Reason: Changed address for 'USA HOMESTEAD AIRPORT BASE' from 'SAINT LO BLVD / BOUGAINVILLE BLVD/' TO 'SAINT LO BLVD / RAUBAUT RD'. This address was changed to accommodate geocoding. This address will now geocode to the proper location. Date: March, 2005 Reason: Made the addresses USPS standard. The address for "USA HOMESTEAD AIRPORT BASE" contained a building number, which had to be removed. Without a house number, the street name "ST NAZIRE BLVD" wasn't USPS standard. Instead, the closest street intersection was used: "SAINT LO BLVD / BOUGAINVILLE BLVD". Internet searches for the correct address yielded no information. Date: April, 1999 Reason: Center the point within the area boundaries. The area boundaries were created for coverage PPORTS using property layers from the DML library.
